Paws to Remember
Support During the Grieving Process
For many of us, our pets are family members, and losing them can be one of our most traumatic experiences.
PeTS offers a free bereavement support group at the PeTS Center on the first Tuesday of each month from 5 pm to 7 pm. The group is facilitated by Gord Youzwyshyn.
From March 2 to May 4, Gord is also offering weekly sessions at MacEwan University on Mondays from 5 pm to 7 pm.
Please register if you’d like to attend any upcoming Paws to Remember event.

Meet Gord
Gord Youzwyshyn has been facilitating the Paws to Remember program since 2008. He was motivated by the loss of his dog, K’Ehleyr (pictured left), a border collie mix. Gord describes K’Ehleyr, named after a Star Trek character, as his “first furry soulmate”.
Gord and his wife currently share their lives with two elderly rescue dogs, Zoryanna (meaning ‘warrior princess’) and Prez (short for El Presidente).

Ella’s Song
We thought of you with love today
But that was nothing new
We thought about you yesterday and the days before that too.
We think of you in silence
We often speak your name
Now all we have is memories and your picture in a frame.
Your memory is our keepsake with which we’ll never part
God has you in His keeping
We have you in our heart.
Ella Morey, age 8,
In tribute to her dog, friend and companion, KC.
